An American Sewing Bee Is Casting!

You may recall that I'm a huge fan of The Great British Sewing Bee. I discovered it on YouTube in its first season and became so obsessed with it that I insisted on talking about it with everyone I came into contact with--hairdressers, baristas, whoever. I've longed for an American version since then, and my wishes are coming true!

I've posted the casting flier above, and I expect you all to get right on this! (I hear they're especially hoping for more male applicants, if you're of that persuasion.) I can't wait to see how this all develops.

Will you be trying out?

    1. Yes, but I've been unable to find it online except on BBC UK, which is only available to UK viewers. Please let me know if you are aware of another option!

  8. I think the big question everyone will want to know is whether or not we'll be seeing you on this program ;)

  9. If I was in the right area I'd go for it! But unfortunately Massachusetts is just outside their area. :( But love the British version and hope they translate it well.

  10. The dress made by David in the third episode is the same pattern as the dress I wore to work on Wednesday!

  12. I so wish the casting call was wider than the Tri-State area - I'd apply in a heartbeat! Maybe they'll do a Midwest version next . . .

  13. They're making one in France also! :) The casting was a few months ago and it's supposed to air in September. I love the original, I can't wait to see the French and American versions (hope they keep them drama-free).

  17. Gertie if you have an ipad you can change your wifi setting so your ipad thinks it's in the UK so you can watch UK iPalyer. I do it on mine so I can watch US Netflix and indulge in Mad Men! If you don't have an ipad there are other ways, just let me know!
I love the Sewing Bee too and look forward to watching it with my Mum every week. The judge in the amazing suits is a highlight! XxxX

  18. Oh grief, that's tempting. I don't feel like I've quite built up the skill for that just yet though. A year from now perhaps, but right now, I'm afraid I'd be like a sick koi in a piranha tank.
