My New Pattern Line with Butterick!
Holy cow, readers. What a day. My book is making its way into your homes, and now another big arrival: the first two designs in my new pattern line with Butterick! I haven't uttered a peep about this, and it's been quite difficult.
I became friends with the folks at Butterick/Mccalls/Vogue earlier this year after they featured my blog in Vogue Patterns Magazine. Ever since doing the patterns for my book, I wanted to do more designs and Butterick was totally game, signing me up for two designs a season. And now the first two are out!
The first is B5814, and I'm so excited that it made the cover of the pattern catalog! I presented this design as a "draped wiggle dress." It has tiny raglan sleeves, a surplice boned bodice, and a double drape on the sarong-style skirt.
Didn't they do an amazing job on the styling and photography?
The second design, B5824, is a New Look inspired coat.
It has a dramatic shawl collar, slim kimono sleeves, and a gored circle skirt.
The cool part was that I got to draft the patterns and make the samples myself. (Well, actually I had a LOT of help from my friend Fleur.) And my friend and illustrator of my book, Sun Young Park, made me a little logo. Then everything went to Butterick, where it was made into a beautiful product by the pros there. Thank you to all the many, many people who made this happen!
The great news is that both patterns are on sale for $2.88 until tomorrow. I hope you love them! I'm hard at work on the next season now; more to come on that.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! That's incredibly exciting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Gretchen! The patterns are fantastic! I must have that dress.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic news, love hearing of someone doing well even if am going in the opposite direction FAST lol.
ReplyDeleteThis is excellent! I've been anxiously awaiting your book for months and now that it's in my hands I cannot wait for the workday to be over with so that I can page through it! And now there are even more patterns to add!
ReplyDeleteI have got to make that coat!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited - this is apparently my week of Gertie! Your book is due to be delivered tomorrow and I've just purchased your Butterick patterns! That dress is STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's FABULOUS!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh wowowowowowowowowow! This so great for you, I love both of your patterns.
ReplyDeleteAwesome patterns! I was literally JUST looking through their look book, and those two patterns were the only ones that interested me. =)
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to the retro reprints that Butterick & Vogue put out. This is 200 times better!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Gertie – well deserved!
These two patterns are exquisite (I have been looking for a coat pattern like that for quite some time . . . now I just need to find the perfect fabric!). And I suppose it goes without saying that I cannot wait to get my hands on these two patterns!
Whoop! Congrats on the new gig and love the designs! I'm waiting impatiently for my book to arrive - I'll likely pounce on the mailman when he gets to my mailbox tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love that dress!
ReplyDeleteGreat design Gertie!
How exciting for you! Both patterns are lovely and I think i might need to make that coat as soon as possible.

ReplyDeleteSo amazing!! I have to buy both of course! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAre they available today? If so SEE ya in a few. I LOVE THEM!!!
ReplyDeleteYou so deserve all that is happening in Gertie World! Much love to you. xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It is obvious that you are a very hard worker and I am so happy to see your success!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love the draped wiggle dress.
ReplyDeleteWow! That coat is amazing!
ReplyDeleteYOWZA GIRL!!! these are the bomb diggity!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNuts!! I JUST started a different coat pattern.... Now I'll have to add this one to my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
Congratulations Gertie! wow!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Love them both! Will these be available in the uk? xxx
ReplyDeleteLove that red dress. I can remember pics of my Mother wearing a coat identical to yours taken in the 50s.
ReplyDeletelouise
I saw the dress(pink)at the Butterick website the other day. It's beautiful! Much success, Gertie!
ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic news!!! Congratulations, the designs
ReplyDeleteare gorgeous. I love the coat but too afraid of kimono sleeves=gussets!
There are no gussets!!! They're slim at the bottom, but slightly roomy in under the arm, since the coat is meant to be worn with garments underneath.
DeleteI'm so excited for you! Guess I'll have to head over to Butterick tonight! You have made yourself into such a success with your talents,
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the focus to do somthing like this. Alas, I'm currently getting ready to decorate a wedding cake for the long weekend, and still need to clean up the stuff from cutting out a dress on Monday night. But I got tired and went and decorated a spare bedroom instead.
I really need the dress pattern! Can you tell me if it will be available in the UK or if there is any other site I could try to get it from? Shipping on that site is coming in at $15 which is ridiculous for ONE pattern! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! both patterns shipping comes in at $25 dollars to the UK! xxx
DeleteHi ladies! They will hopefully be available on sewingpatterns.eu. That's the only source I know of. If you have sewing friends nearby, maybe you can place a group order at butterick.com? Sorry, that shipping is crazy!
DeleteHi,
DeleteI'm in the UK and ordered them both yesterday - the shipping was $25 but it stayed at $25 for up to 8 patterns and as they were on sale at $2.88 each I got 7 patterns (including the fab Gertie ones!) for less than £30 including shipping from the USA; I think that's a pretty good deal as my local fabric shop sells bog standard patterns by the major companies at £9 a pop! :) Not sure if the sale is still on today though...
Thank you Gertie, that's great! My sewing group will be so pleased :D That is actually great value Good Fruit! Thank you xxx
DeleteI am so so so happy for you. That coat is a dream and the dress: ooohhhh laaa laaa! I love them both!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Huge congrats Gretchen!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, congratulations!! LOVE the coat pattern, pity winter is nearly over here in the southern hemisphere..
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see your success! They are gorgeous and I will be buying both - I love the cut and hope to see more from you in the future!
ReplyDeleteBought and bought! Your book is also supposed to be here tomorrow. I'm so excited to get it! Congrats, Gertie! You are one of those people who are totally deserving of your good fortune because you are so awesome at what you do!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteI've just ordered them now! Can't wait for them (and the book) to arrive!
Hope they don't take too long to get to the UK!
Did you order them from the US site? Shipping came up as $25 for me xxx
DeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that coat!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am soooo glad you have your own patterns! I have just finished painting my sewing room and just ordered these. First project in my new room? I think so!
ReplyDeleteWow, how exciting for you. Great patterns.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic news, Gertie! Congratulations! I shall have to check them out next time I'm at the fabric store. ;)
ReplyDeleteYOU GO GIRL!!!! How thrilling and I love the new patterns.
ReplyDeleteIf your jacket pattern had been available for the "Lady Gray" sew-along I would have chosen that instead of the Butterick 5401 I made. Now I can purchase this pattern and make a nice "swing" coat. The dress is really sweet as well.
My Mom ordered your book for me off of my Amazon wishlist and I am hoping to see that sometime soon!!!
Wishing you success in your sewing adventures!!!
WOW this is a big deal! Congrats! And Butterick is to be commended on their beautiful styling of your pattern photos.. a million times better than wacky model poses!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Gertie! More amazing stuff...
ReplyDeleteOMG that is the best. Congrats! The whole package is so nicely done, too. I agree about the photos - just gorgeous. It's like they brought vintage photos/models to life!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Gretchen! Isn't it amazing, the path life takes us? This little blog has turned into so many amazing opportunities. I'm so happy for you and that all your hard work has paid off!
ReplyDelete'Kathleen
Boom! Amazeballs job lady. I have ordered both patterns whilst the sale is still on AND my copy of your book arrived yesterday - beautifully written, and engaging!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!! I also received your book in the mail yesterday and LOVE IT!!!! I was so excited I can you a shout out on my blog!!! Thanks for being so inspirational!!! Susan
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I'm super excited for you, I'm going to go and buy them now! I have been looking for a coat just like that for an age now! Thanks for creating it for me :) x
ReplyDeleteWonderful - already purchased!! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBoth are really lovely designs, congrats!
ReplyDeleteExcellent news Gertie, many congratulations!!! Both patterns are stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just waiting for my book to be delivered! Oh dear -- it looks like I'm going to have to make a coat. Both designs are great, but....ooooh, that coat!!!
ReplyDeleteThose of us who have followed your blog through the Vogue book years and beyond are so thrilled to see how your talent is being recognized, and how you're able to use your dreams and passion to become your own brand. You have a lot of sewers you've never met cheering your progress!
i second that!!
DeleteThank you, ladies. You're the best!
DeleteCongratulations, Gertie!! That's magnificent news! I love Butterick patterns and will look forward to your designs every season. :)
ReplyDeleteGertie, I just got your book in the mail today and I am mad for it! It could have been written with me in mind...plus do you know how cheering it is to see that in your patterns I am actually a size 10??!! Are your patterns for Butterick (which I adore) going to be similarly sized, or standard commercial pattern sized (in which I am, groan, an 18-20)? Either way, I can't wait to start sewing! good on ya, girl!
ReplyDeleteOh that's good to hear! The Butterick sizes are their own, not mine. But they go to a size 22, so you're good!
DeleteGot the book! Love it! Looking forward to getting the dress pattern in particular.
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! Your own pattern line!!!!! Livin' the dream, Gertie! These two are gorgeous and I look forward to seeing your future releases. Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, you're own pattern line??? that's so fantastic!! also this arrived today!!
ReplyDeleteYay, hope you enjoy the book!
DeleteFirst the book arrived this afternoon (awesome!) and then the BMV email about the new patterns - You can be the only Gertie, so I knew. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteGot my book today. Can't wait to read it so it's coming on vacation with me.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the coat pattern. Off to purchase it now.
Congratulations!
and thank you!
Congratulations! Your two patterns outshine everything else they're offering this season. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYay!! Congrats!!! Love your two patterns. How exciting for you!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Gertie! Congratulations, this is so exciting. I cannot wait to get my copy of the book, and all of your loyal fans will soon be wearing the cover dress, like a little Girl Force of Gertie Girls! :) Thank you for making retro-cool accessible for all of us!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER, how can I get your book in Australia? your publisher only ships to Canada and USA. You are missing a big slice of market share.
Have you tried Book Depository? They will carry the book and have worldwide free shipping.
DeleteCongratulations! So enoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Gertie! I wish I had somewhere to wear the draped wiggle dress. I might just buy the pattern and admire it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you Gertie!!! I bought them immediately!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's wonderful! I wonder though - what's the story with the grading and ease? On the vintage repro patterns for the various companies and for the Civil War period patterns they add massive quantities of ease and sometimes the grading is weird. Any idea how these hold up in the ease and grading departments?
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful designs! That coat is just delicious.
Thanks! I can't give a certain answer about the ease. I drafted the sample for a size 10 and that's what you see in the pictures. Butterick did the digitizing and grading, so it's possible they made changes to fit with their ease requirements. As always, I would check the finished garment measurements on the pattern before making it up.
DeleteOmigosh!! How exciting!! This is so thrilling, how terrific for you~ can't wait to make that marvelous coat, and I am waiting with bated breath for your book to arrive so I can start on the fab clothes in there.
ReplyDeleteThat coat is stunning, I will snap up the pattern ASAP. Not sure where I would wear the dress, but it is beautifully done. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely drooling...
ReplyDeleteWOW! Congratulations Gertie, that's brilliant! :D
ReplyDeleteHoly Seam Tape Gretchen!!!! I just saw the COVER of the email that came to me from Butterick---- and saw the "by Gertie" --- had to zip over to the Blog immediately before even opening the Look Book. SO DAMN EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so so exciting! I don't know how you were able to keep this under wraps. Since the Big 4 tend to be a substantial amount of ease, will your patterns also have the same amount, or will they be more true to size? And, do you have any interest in doing a sew along with these? That seems like it would be fun! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWow even more exciting news! LOVE these patterns - they are just beautiful :-D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all your success, it is wonderful to read about it. Enjoy! I don't know how you kept this a secret. You must have been bursting at the seams!
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see all this happening for you, and the patterns are di-VINE!
ReplyDeleteLove that side draped dress. I collect vintage patterns and designs like that are RARE - so thankyou for making it accessible to everyone now.
How on earth did you keep it a secret though? Nice work :-)
Wow Gertie...you sure can keep a secret!!! Love the designs, especially the coat :) I'm waiting delivery on your book, and cannot wait to get my hands on it!
ReplyDeleteOmg! Mega congrats! I just got your book today and can't wait to delve into it, and now you have more patterns!
ReplyDeleteThat coat is to die for! So feminine and pretty. Yay!
This is so awesome! I don't even "know" you but I am so proud of you!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! thats totally amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the coat! Shipping down to NZ is $15 (criminal, I think, because I can't see any way that it would cost that much; I've had patterns shipped for $5 and that was from a small town in Kansas) so it will have to wait, but still, wow!
ReplyDeleteMust feel like a dream. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Gertie, you deserve this and more!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, that is THE coolest thing ever!!! I'm so happy for you, like I would be happy for anyone in my family! You've shared so much of your life here, and let us all read it. Thanks for all your hard work over the years - we are the ones who benefit!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!! The designs are awesome--we'll all be buying them, that's for sure. And it's great to think that there will be more. WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I just ordered the patterns online tonite at the >sale< price (thanks for the tip on that). Looking forward to getting them next week.
DeleteI JUST GOT MY BOOK YESTERDAY! You've done an amazing job! Easy to read and beautiful pictures. I'm making a wiggle dress as I write!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Beautiful! I can't find the right words! Congratulations! I can't wait to make that coat!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, G!
ReplyDeleteAND they got Dita Von Teese to model them?
ReplyDeleteAre you crazy excited to see your stuff on her?
You so rock, Gertie! Congratulations and I look forward to your future designs! What a year you are having!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! These are fantastic, Gertie, congratulations! And I can't wait for my copy of the book to arrive, I'm over the moon!
ReplyDeletestrugglesewsastraightseam.worpdress.com
I remember the first post I read in your blog was about why pin cushions are tomato shaped (don't ask me how I remember this) and I've been following you ever since. I've read with enthusiasm all your acomplishments and now you have this wonderful news! I'm very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat will you come up with next!!?
~Sewjourner
Well, actually I had given myself a pattern buying stopp for this year, but...I couldn't resist and bought them! I can't help, I'm a fan.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! That dress has my name all over it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Love that coat! :)
ReplyDeletegeorgeous! And, I convinced my husband that I need your book and it is being shipped from Amazon. I am excited to try out your patterns.
ReplyDeleteThis is such amazing news Gertie - congratulations! I'm busy loading up the butterick site so I can purchase them now! :-)
ReplyDeleteAaaah! Swoon! The coat is amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Oh Gertie, I'm dying! They're gorgeous, and available in sizes I don't have to grade? Am I dreaming?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the patterns, they are really wonderful!
This is so cool! I got an email for Butterick this morn with your dress as the main picture and it is beautiful!! Can't wait for your book to get here now >.<
ReplyDeleteBig congratulations!! I have just ordered them both. The cost is AMAZING. As a massive fan of the New Look I am completely in love with its style.
ReplyDeleteHurray! These look fabulous! Huge congratulations, Gertie.
ReplyDeleteAmazing!! Lots of congratulations to you! the patterns are fabulous!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour book is on its way
ReplyDeleteAND I've just ordered both patterns!!

ReplyDeleteWow what a great thing to happen! I am in love with that coat!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful. I am so happy for your success. Congrats. I love the patterns and I will def. buy one.
ReplyDeleteI was sooo excited to get the book in the mail yesterday. I was there as soon as the doorbell rang and immediately sat down and started reading.
ReplyDeleteI really like the coat.
wow, congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is awesome! As a former Vogue/Butterickian, I can tell you that the people I knew there were fabulous to work with!
ReplyDeleteGot my email from Butterick yesterday and I knew right away it was you Gertie, before I had the chance to read it in the blog. Wow! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU! You're an amazing gal with amazing talent and a huge heart! Much continued success, you deserve it! I'm anxiously awaiting Saturday delivery of my copy of your book!!
ReplyDeleteI love them both! I'm definitely going to be watching Butterick for more.
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks very similar to a green dress that Christina Hendricks wears in promotional shots for Mad Men, just without the sleeves. Was it used as inspiration for your design?
ReplyDeleteYes, it was! I will write more about the inspiration for each design soon. But yes, I loved that Mad Men dress and any vintage patterns for something similar are rare and expensive, so I decided to design my own version!
DeleteI am in LOVE with your book. It was my most anticipated book of 2012 and it did not dissapoint. I didn't expect it too be so big. It is like five of my most coveted books all in one. I am so happy. I don't know where to start! I also just found out about your Butterick patterns this morning. I had said I wasn't going to buy any more patterns for awhile, but I am going to have to make an exception. You outdid yourself is all I can say. Thank you for sharing your passion with us
ReplyDeleteLove both patterns. I figured that was you when I bought the coat pattern yesterday. Congratulations, look forward to more.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you success. I love the coat and plan on purchasing the pattern. I just got work your book has been shipped and I am VERY excited about that. I'm looking forward to your next two patterns with delight and anticipation. I hope you have even more success with all your future endeavours.
ReplyDeleteCongrats...here's to hoping that you got a kick-ass contract that reverts all (some?) rights to you when the patterns are discontinued. Ideally you want to be able to sell these patterns forever and a day! I think all Americans should have some intellectual property that they can sell in perpetuity. It can add up to significant income over time.
ReplyDeleteHuge congrats, Gertie! I love both patterns. And, I received my copy of your book yesterday and am happily devouring it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I totally thought that dress was your style when I opened up the email about the new pattern but didn't look far enough to see your name on it.
ReplyDeleteI just looovvee the patterns they are beautiful! Congrats to you! I thought the book wouldn't be ready til September? Where can I order it at now? It's def must have!
ReplyDeleteIt's in stock early at Amazon.com!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.amazon.com/Gerties-Book-Better-Sewing-Couture-Style/dp/1584799919
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI promise to buy them at Jo-Ann's when they are on sale next, but I can't sew them yet! I promised myself no new clothes unless they are maternity! And unfortunately, they are too fitted to retrofit for maternity... :(
ReplyDeleteBut YAY!!!!!!!!!!
Could you ever have dreamt such a thing would happen when you started this blog?? Amazing!! Especially like the dress! (Maybe I'll make it with sleeves.)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is so awesome! I can't wait to buy the patterns (and your book)!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Gertie! I saw the pattern for the dress and said to myself. Woa thats hot! then I saw the logo that referenced Gertie and I was saying to myself could it really be her? I googled it instead of coming straight to your blog! Wow how awesome is this!
ReplyDeleteLove both of these - I'm buying both! Congrats! Looking foward to more, more, more.
ReplyDeleteStunning!! Major congratulations to you. Buying right now!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Gretchen!!! Just got the email today for the new patterns and I will say they are really sharp.
ReplyDeleteI love to see someone succeed, and I'm sure it was a lot of hard work. Great job!
~Cathy
Congratulations! I'm really happy for you!
ReplyDeleteLovely styles! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations Gertie! I discovered your blog a few months ago but have never posted a comment. I finally decided to come out and say hello. Love the designs, love the photos, love the car!! All the best. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful news for you. Your blogging is engaging and practical - a difficult combination. Congratulations to you on the Butterick pattern line!
ReplyDeleteSo...I logged on to the Butterick page and ordered the coat pattern (I'm not sure this is the season for the dress, here in Canada at least!)
Congratulations Gertie!! The pattern collaboration with Butterick is awesome! I just ordered your book today from Amazon. Can't wait till it gets here.
ReplyDeleteWow!!!!!! Congratulations! I LOVE that dress, will surely be make it i the same color too, so pretty! Now I just wish I had the car to go with!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gertie I'll check it out!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I picked them as "to buy" patterns of the season even before realising they are from you. Looking forward to getting them :)!
ReplyDeleteStop press to UK shoppers - Just logged on and got both patterns in the sale (today only I think, but you still have time!), for £12 (around 20 USD)inc postage. Very very happy. Now that lovely coat fabric which I have stashed for centuries will finally become the glam coat of my dreams. Thanks a million Gertie, as vintage lovers we salute you.x
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. Well done you! :o)
ReplyDeleteShut the front door, that's awesome! Both of these patterns look great, I look forward to trying both.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the wiggle dress was your design when I saw it this morning, but I *did* think the drape looked very like the one you posted a how-to for.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
Dear Miss Gertie,
ReplyDeleteI am just learning to sew, and your blog has been super-helpful. I'm particularly excited to try out your coat pattern!
I just received your book in the mail. It is everything I hoped it would be - and even more beautiful! I can't wait to start a project from it =D
ReplyDeleteI just got your book in the mail and I cannot say enough of how happy I am. I've been planning a wiggle dress of my own only waiting for the pattern and now I "must" make a slightly modified sultry dress.
ReplyDeleteI am also quite happy that I only have to make a few alterations thanks to the bust/hip proportions you have on your patterns. I have a 6 inch hip difference from my bust measurements and your sizing makes life so easier! Thanks again for a wonderful book!
I just bought your book!!!! Mine comes Tuesday. The dress pattern and coat are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteJust got my copy and I can't say enough about how awesome it is! Wow! Seriously Wow! Great in every way! I own tons of sewing books, rare, vintage and otherwise and I am constantly referring or trying to remember where I read certain info now I don't have to anymore thank you Gertie!
ReplyDeleteFelicidades!!! I'm so happy for you. The book was waiting for me at home after work. The pattern artwork compliments your dress so much. So far, a good ending to my Friday.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your new book! There is a jacket pattern in it that I think was also a craftsy tutorial. I went online to find it and it seems to have disappeared. I really wanted to take that class, was it removed from the craftsy website?
ReplyDeleteLove the patterns and can't wait to pick them up. Congratulations on all of your successes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your pattern line!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just received my copy of your book and it's even better than I'd been expecting. I LOVE the drawings of you - that's such a wonderful touch!
Congratulations, Gertie!!!! I just saw you two new patterns on the Butterick website. How gorgeous!!! I love both and can't wait to get my hands on them. You sew inspire!!! Thanks for sharing with us all.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful patterns Gertie.
ReplyDeleteOn another subject I wanted you to know my book came today from Amazon and I must say this is the best sewing book I have ever seen no kidding as I have quite a few of them!! I love that you have included patterns in this as well. I can't wait to plan out some new outfits. Bless you sweet lady.
Wow Gertie, that's amazing! Great work, LOVE the designs. I hope they sell them in Australia. You are such an inspiration, go girl!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and yippee for all of us getting to make some more of your beautiful patterns! I have been looking through your book nonstop since it arrived earlier this week. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I can't wait to try making a few.
ReplyDeletehttp://sisterhoodofthecraftypants.blogspot.com/
Wow! That is so Awesome! I can't wait to see all of your designs. I got my book today. I was so excited that it came way earlier than expected. It is such a dream, even better than I expected. It is now my favorite sewing book. Looking forward to diving in. I am doing a little post about your book on my blog on Monday.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Gertie! The neckline on the pink dress is beautiful. I'm planning my Fall/Winter sewing and the coat will be a great addition! Congrats again on your success... such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I have ordered both of them - so beautiful and the coat is an ideal silhouette. I am happy to support your book, classes & now patterns!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, when I am looking through the book art I keep my eye out for Henry - nice job by the artist.
