Thank You (Sniff.)

Okay, I know I said I would be back on the topic of sewing today, but I really need to write a post about how awesome you all are. (Sewing is awesome too, we'll get back to that shortly.) I quite frankly did not expect the incredibly sweet and generous response to my Twitter plea post yesterday. And I certainly did not expect several hundred new followers, and messages that were so nice they made me a little teary.

Okay, before I get weepy again! A few of you asked for book updates. I can tell you that I spent yesterday reviewing the final proofs, that it's releasing this September, that it has an awesome cover that I hope to reveal to you soon, and that I will write a special post the minute (nay, the second!) it's available for pre-order.

In the meantime, know that I am incredibly thankful for all of you (and so is Henry).

I'm sure you've been asked this before - and have answered!- but will your book be available in the UK?

  6. Hi Gertie - is that just the US release date - or will it be available in the Uk then?

Have been watching the lessons from the tayloring course & have just decided that I'm going to have to make 2 jackets - one of each!

  7. Joining twitter and following you is the least I can do in return for everything you've shared and taught me!

  8. I don't have a twitter account either, but am forever grateful to you for the lesson on padstitching which I used on the collar of a jacket I'd just made.
So I'll definitely be buying your book.
Thinking of joining your new course and making the suit in a summery cotton/ linen material, which maybe would have lightweight interfacing?

  12. I know I speak for all your blog fans when I say you are such an inspiration and I can't WAIT for your book! I am immensely enjoying the online Starlet Suit Jacket Craftsy course. This is my very first online sewing course (but I've taken several in-person classes). I turn on my little netbook computer, login to the course, and there you are Gertie, talking to me right by my sewing machine! I feel like I'm sewing in the same room as you! (That's a cool dream for sure) I'm quite simply immensely impressed with the quality of the program, how it works on Craftsy and of course, your unfailing enthusiasm for sewing and all things retro. BIG FAN.

  13. Hey, I'm waiting for the BOOK! I love following your posts. You bring excellence to sewing and that, my dear, is a good thing.

I've been a Twitter follower if yours for a while now, is there anything else I should do?

What connects each of us to you is our love of sewing, our grateful thank you's for sharing your skills and insights, and hopeful and positive thoughts for your success. We are so proud of you, not just for what you have accomplished but also for putting sewing back in the limelight...where it belongs!
