The Daily Dress: Diane Kruger in Jason Wu

So, you know that tonight is the Met Costume Institute Ball, right? It's like the Super Bowl for fashion lovers! Celebrities go all out in couture, plus it signifies the opening of a new exhibit at the Costume Institute. Red Carpet Fashion Awards is already covering the event, thank goodness. My favorite so far is Diane Kruger looking glam beyond all imagination in Jason Wu. I think she nailed the styling of this daring dress with her Old Hollywood waves, red lips, and vampy shoes. I love how the sky-high slit is tempered with the more modest bodice, which is more fitted on Diane than on the runway.

I'm sure there are many more amazing dresses to come, so grab some popcorn and a front row seat, girlfriends.

  1. Many people don't know Jason Wu is a doll designer. One of my dear friends helps design the miniature jewelry for some of his dolls. You should check out some of his mini fashions as well. (Having known the doll side for years, I was surprised to see his runway stuff. hehehe) k.

  3. She seems to have had some kind of run in with a bedazzler. I like the runway bodice much more. I think the dress was more balanced with the looser fit and the more subtle metallic design.

  6. I really love the super-embellished bodice against the more restrained skirt. So glamorous without being over the top or vulgar!

  8. This is beautiful! I wouldn't have looked twice at it on the runway, maybe bc I'd be too busy looking at that lace face cover-up. But Diane has really nailed the right hair/face/dress combo; she looks fantastic (and it having great legs doesn't hurt!)
