  1. Hello. I saw your video about the horse hair braid hem, but i wonder if you will have any idea of how some skirt looks like they have horsehair braid in the whole skirt, keeping a nice shape and volume. Thanks

  2. I love the new blog set-up with tabs like this one at the top!

For ages I've wondered whether you completed all the garments in the book, or they're still in the works, or you've consciously decided to end the experiment.

Maybe I've missed some posts, but I thought I read about your fabric selection and plans for the the little girls' dress, for example, but I don't recall seeing it.

It would be great if you were interested in doing an update!

  3. I grew up with my Mom and Aunts making those beautiful clothes.. No one ever had "store bought" clothes. You would have been considered lazy and without talent and a very bad Mothere and wife! The clothes were always so beautiful and I had a wonderful wardrobe too. So much fun to see them again. Thanks

  4. I have started the portrait blouse from your book and so far it is looking very nice! Once I have got the pattern right I can see me making a portrait blouse in an afternoon especially as I have three lots of fabric waiting in the wings! It is such a flattering shape!

  5. Hey Gertie- YOU ROCK!!! I too, love the idea of the cigarette pants or skirt with an open overskirt- all full length, preferably! I just can't find a pattern out there! I did find Butterick 8607, but it's 52.00 on etsy. Do you have any suggestions/ pattern numbers that you prefer? I would so appreciate your help- thank you so much in advance!
