Cutest Henry Photo Ever?

Dear readers, I'm in a hotel room in Denver, where I'm doing the filming of my next Craftsy course. I'm pad stitching like the wind and my left eye is doing that crazy twitchy thing it does when I'm stressed. That's why I need to show you this photo. Jeff sent it to me this morning (when I'm away I get treated to many Henry photos by text). I think it may be his best ever. Look at that little white patch! Those soulful eyes! The perky ears!

I know I'm a bit of a crazy cat lady. The other day Jeff told me to stop kissing Henry on the mouth because apparently that's weird. (It's not like there was any tongue involved, Jeez! Why can't a lady just kiss her cat on the mouth??!!) But Henry is one of my great joys in life and I'm so happy I found him. I knew you readers would understand because many of you are crazy cat ladies as well.

So feel free to gush about your kitties and tell sweet cat stories here (the kind that would make you ineligible for a second date). Henry and I are all ears.

In the mean time, I'll be back to pad stitching! I can't wait to tell you more about my new online course.

  2. Aw, what a cute kitty! My kitty and I do a nose kiss where we bump noses, I may be a bit of a crazy cat lady myself :)

  3. Aww - he's lovely. One of my two has recently decided that she wants to sleep on my pillow at night - so I now scoot down the bed and sleep without one so that she's comfy!

  4. eeeepp. Another sewing cat lady?! Amazing. I think Henry is beautiful - who wouldn't want to kiss him on the mouth.

  5. Awww, Henry is quite handsome indeed. He looks like he could be siblings with Asa, my little girl. I cuddle her and boop her nose as often as she'll let me.

  6. i kiss my labrador Wilbur on the lips and nose all the time....perfectly normal behaviour to kiss your loved ones.

  7. Oh, I love kitties! I'm so sad that I can't currently have one :( Kiss your kitties extra for me, k?

  8. While you're in town you should check out my favorite fabric store, Fancy Tiger Crafts! I cant wait for your next course online

  9. Aww, your Henry looks a lot like my Boris...except not horribly, horribly fat. My chunky kitty even has a white spot in the same place!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I kiss mine too. They are little furry people who have been known to spoon me. Crazy cat lady happens, but how can one not? So much fuzz!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. *screams* Handsome!

I can't imagine Henry ever takes a bad photo!

  12. Does your other cat get jealous? True cute cat story: I never had a cat until the cute homeless kitty I would talk to every day followed me down the block , up the stairs and into my building. I guess he decided to come live me..meanwhile, he's not paying his share of the rent.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Henry is adorable!! I have to admit, I get quite jealous when my husband kisses our dog on the mouth--I think he does it excessively. I guess I'm team Jeff on this matter... but I do pick up our kitty and cuddle him excessively. To each his own.

  14. Handstitching of any kind is sooo soothing... and while I don't own a cat (or any pet, for that matter), I do agree that Henry is one damn cute cat =)

  15. let me know if you need a guide in Boulder! I'm free middle of the day tomorrow and Friday until 4 :)

  16. Is it more convenient to film your course at the hotel?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ohhh, he looks like he misses you! I know when my university sons head back to school & Hubby goes off on a business trip our two kitties go into a decided funk. Just think how happy you'll both be to see each other when you return home! (My eye does that twitchy stress thing too, plus one side of my upper lip sometimes joins in too. Hope the stress eases up quickly for you!)

  18. With all the popularity Henry has he might need his own blog. He could be the next maru

  19. Love this. I just had a conversation with a friend who was telling me that her roommate's cat had disappeared and the roommate was very sad. To convey the amount of sadness the roommate was feeling, my friend added, "She kisses this cat on the mouth. That is how much she loves it."

To which I replied, "I kiss my cats on the mouth. I thought everyone did!"

    ReplyDelete
  20. Awww...he looks like he has super soft grey fur like my kitty. Quite handsome!

  21. Thank goodness I've found another crazy cat lady who is also a sewist! I have 2 cats, Dewey (a girl) and Pontificus the First, or Ponti for short (a boy).

Dewey is quite uppity and aloof, although surprisingly cuddly when you need it the most. Ponti is hilarious, a total boy, and a complete attention whore. As soon as the camera comes out, he must get in on the action.

    Henry is adorable!

  22. I just love cute cat photos. My husband does the same for me since he works from home more often than I do. Often the photo will be of one of our cats laying right on top of his work just looking too adorable to move. My eye also does that crazy twitchy thing when I haven't gotten enough sleep and am stressed. I'm looking forward to hearing about your class. I'm still trying to find time to make my bombshell dress. My guess is that your new class will motivate me to get the bombshell checked off my list. Deep breaths and good luck!

  23. Aww, Henry is adorable! Look at his ears, so large and perky! Give him a kiss from me too. My cat Shugy (the lookalike of your female cat, I forgot her name!) is such a little baby. He loves to talk - you talk to him and he meow's back, and you can have quite an intelligent conversation. He is also an expert purrer - when he purrs loudly and meows softly he sounds like "rrrrwwwaaa" like a toad in the swamps :-) And Pushkin - he's a slider cat. He likes to walk up to your feet and rub against them and continue the motion into a sort of back flip/slide. I must get that on video. Pushkin is obsessed with feet. One time I came home from a pit fire (for ceramics) which was out in a field, and he dug his face into my shoes and "attacked" them and went all crazy, for the smell of the smoke and the field. They are just so adorably crazy and communicative.

  24. Henry looks so sad, like he's wondering why you're not there!

Husbands don't understand the bond between crazy sewing ladies and their cats! Our first argument (as a dating couple) was actually about whether I loved my cat more than my husband. I kiss my cat on the mouth all the time, but I think my sister takes the cake...she lets her cat lick her ice cream cone while she's still eating it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. OK, Henry is adorable! But.. on the mouth? EWW EWW EWW EWW.

    I have a cat, so it's not that I don't like cats. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I've got 2 cats; Star is a female version of your Henry; same white patch on her chest. It's her sister that likes cat kisses, but instead of lip to lip, it's nose to nose. My mother thinks it's gross, I disagree.

  27. I hope with all the pad stitching, the new craftsy class is about a coat/jacket of some sort. Which I would totally take!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm not a cat lady, but I am sure a crazy dog lady. I kiss both of mine on the mouth and occasionally one of them tries to lick me at the same time. I have got his tongue in my month a few times. Even my boyfriend, who hated this, kisses them on the mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You're right, Henry's photo is the cutest I've seen so far - he is darling! I'm a crazy cat lady too, and my kitties are definitely one of my greatest joys in life. One of them is trying to type with me at the moment.

Padstitching is great fun (when I'm not stressed) I find it kind of meditative...can't wait to see the class preview! Happy Stitching!

  30. I love cats... lovethem. Unfortunatly I have developed a severe allergy to cat fur and so I cannot go near them...sob. So your piccies fill the gap.

Deeply excited about your next course...even though I have only just started your last one!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I totally kiss one of my cats on the mouth. Not sure he likes it though... he always does a "muuuum, gerroff" look afterwards. Husband is more of a mad cat lady than I am, so I think I'm quite lucky. Ladies, he may be a keeper ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I was so glad to read this and realise that I am not alone... I too kiss my LePunz on the mouth!! Haha. He doesn't really like it but is sweet enough to put up with it!! ;)
Your Henry is very adorable. :)

  33. Such a handsome boy! Just had a very disturbed night's sleep thanks to strong winds and the cat poking me in the eye, clawing my hair, using the back of my neck as a scratching post, yowling at the weather and generally being a noisy nuisance. I adore her though, tell her I love her several times a day and kiss her on the mouth too! I thought that was normal behaviour...!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi there Gertie,

I am a mad cat lady too!! I used to kiss my cats on the mouth too until a vet suggested that it wasn't the wisest thing to do..............can't remember everything he said.

Can you tell me, as someone who has worked through your amazing Bombshell Dress course, can you put us out of our misery and let us know when the next course will be available to buy.

Would LOVE to know about the pattern for the burgundy evening dress shown in the background of your intro to the bombshell dress.

The bomshell dress course was amazing, and I am sure there are is a queue of people wanting to sign up for the much awaited second course from you.............

  35. DEFINITELY a top condender for cutest Henry picture! I've been a Crazy Cat Lady-in-waiting for the past 15 years, until this summer when I finally got 2 kittens of my very own, Biscuit and Bean! I am now a fully fledged CCL and find myself talking about them far too much. To the point where my mum threated me this Christmas that I was catagorically NOT allowed to sign my Christmas cards from me, Rob and the Kittens!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. So cute! Echo (my kitty) and I are reading this together and are hoping you have a great time in Denver!! xoxoxo

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm another crazy cat lady with a twitchy eye! Seems there are a lot of us out there.

My kitty is a calico who likes to talk quite a bit. We have long conversations, with my half in english and her half in meows. She also owns every blanket in our house. She'll pick a favorite for a week or so and then rotate on to a different blanket, making sure none of them get worn out. My husband and I joke that she's decided to change nap venues when we find her on a different blanket.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hahaha I forgot to mention my cat on my first date with my boyfriend (which is very strange because usually I talk of nothing else). I think this was very lucky because I'm 100% sure he wouldn't have wanted to see me again if he had known how crazy about cats I am.

Henry is delicious. I would kiss him on the mouth, too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. HaHA I also kiss my cat on the mouth and my husband thinks it's gross. I agree that they are our babies and we are allowed to kiss them on the mouth! It's so nice of Jeff to send you pics while you're away!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I hope you are enjoying Denver!! We are having great weather here this week!! Welcome to my city!! And as far as kissing the cat goes, I think it is perfectly normal! I am more of a crazy dog lady myself, but the idea is the same. My little dog sleeps in the crook of the arm like all of my real children did and no one can tell me anything about it!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I kiss my kitties on top of thier head. But hey kiss them on the mouth if you want to. I love my kitties too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If you are still in Denver, and want to de-stress, both Friday and Saturday are free days at the zoo. I'm going Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Henry is a very cute kitty :)

I got my kitty a few days after my husband left for his first deployment. My kitty has been with me in 6 different houses, through 3 deployments, one dog, one baby and still hasn't decided to leave me yet. He got very very sick this past year and people couldn't believe I paid for his (very expensive) kitty surgery. Of course I did, he's been through it all with me! Thank goodness I don't need a second date with anyone. Husband is stuck with me and the cat. I should make the cat a special bed....

    ReplyDelete
  44. i HATE the tired stress eye twitch.

get out and breathe some mountain air and think of henry!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Aww Henry! I'm a crazy cat lady as well. My main spoiled kitty is Madame Euterpova (named after a role in an opera, she's a diva). Sometimes it's hard to not just sit around smooshing & kissing her sweet face. In the winter she likes to burrow under blankets to stay warm. This means when I go to grab a lap blanket or get into bed sometimes my blankets meow.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I can totally relate! We have a dog and not a cat, but when I'm away or my fiancee is away, we also send tons of pictures! And I kiss my dog on the mouth too.

Henry's so photogenic! That picture is fabulous. When I had a sweet kitty, she always looked horrid in pictures. I would tell people she was adorable, and then they would see her picture and not believe me!

    ReplyDelete
  47. That is a darling picture of Henry!

I'm a crazy cat lady and absolutely give my little bundle of joy tons of kisses. She's my baby girl.

What class are you filming?? I'm excited you're doing another one. I haven't quite worked up to the bombshell dress yet. Maybe this spring?

    ReplyDelete
  48. That is a really cute picture of your cat. My husband is an actor, and I text pictures of our cat to him when he's gone for shows. We are crazy cat people, and recently took our cat on a car trip from Minnesota to Alabama. Our kitty is diabetic, so he can't just be left at home.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Instead of being a crazy cat lady, I'm a crazy bunny lady. :) I just happened to post about my two buns Baxter and Professor Quincy Snugglesworth on my website.

If you would like a break from padstitching this is the link:
    http://zilredloh.com/2012/01/05/refurbished-bun-room/

Hope you can enjoy it even though they're buns. :)

  50. Kissing your cat isn't that strange , although I think my husband gets jealous of the cuddle time I give to our cat Leeloo.

It should be nice and warm and sunny in Denver today. I would also second the suggestion of a trip to Fancy Tiger Crafts if you have the time. It's a great store.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Great photo of Henry! I love the cat photos.
I kiss my Symon's little pink feets because they're just so cute.

    ReplyDelete
  52. My husband is allergic to cats, so no cats for me. But I do love my dog excessively!

    ReplyDelete
  53. My cutest cat story involves feral cats that had torn open the trash outside. I picked up the bags and took them to the dumpster. I touched my eyes and the whites of my eyes turned blood red and the sclera filled with fluid. That was when I learned I had gotten allergic to cats. A great sadness in my life. Henry is very dapper, and I suggest a grey wool wiggle dress with a white lace jabot and and a few grey velveteen details in his honor. Really lovely clunky shoes too. You know. the sexy librarian dress.

  55. Welcome to Denver, and enjoy the beautiful January weather we imported just for you.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm with you, I kiss my cat on the mouth. When we got her (as a semi-stray, after the very sudden death of a neighbor, who I think was her previous owner) she didn't know the behavior. I taught it to her as part of her nightly ritual of getting her can of wet food, and now she does it to show affection, either bumping noses or touching her mouth to mine, and occasionally when I ask for a "kissy", if she's in the mood, lol. I know she can't have the cleanest mouth in the world, but it's just too cute to stop doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Heh! I might be tempted if mine didn't have the worst kitten breath in the world. We always quote Alec Baldwin at him when we cuddle him; "When did you find time to eat a diaper you found on the beach?" Congratulations on your next course!

P.S. You never have to ask yourself if you've found the right guy if he sends you pics of your pets while you're away :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. My husband thinks kissing cats is gross but evidently kissing DOGS is OK!! LOL! I prefer the cat kisses, they're neater about the whole process.

    ReplyDelete
  59. My boy Frankie is actually like my son, and I treat him as such - including kisses on the mouth. He still amazes me and makes me laugh every day. He has sooo many quirks, always finding new places to hide from Mama (even though he has been here in my small flat for 5yrs), will only drink from the bath, licks my eyes to wake me etc. I can see you feel the same way - Henry is beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have no cats, but I kiss my jack russel on the cheek (she really has dog breath, ugh).
I get the twitchy thing in my eye too - when I'm stressed. Funny thing is, I don't really realize that I'm stressed until that starts.
    Have fun filming!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm a bit of a crazy cat lady too, so i can totally understand you!
Cats and husbands, that's neverending story :))

    P.S. Henry is perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Count me as another person who kisses her cat on the mouth and whose gentleman friend does not. Those sweet grey lips, how can anyone resist them!?

    ReplyDelete
  63. What a handsome chap! I got home today to find one of my cats (*looks pointedly at the boisterous boy cat*) had managed to open up my underwear drawer and strew bits of clothing all of the bedroom. And I just thought it was cute. Crazy cat lady indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Are you familiar with "Le Chat du Rabbin"? It's a great series of graphic novels by Joann Sfar. I don't know if it was translated into english. It's a great story about a philisophical cat who lives with a rabbi and his daughter in Algeria when it was a french colony. Anyway, I think you would love the drawings of the cat, he looks a lot like Henry. http://www.chat-du-rabbin.com/fre/Serie/Les-albums

  65. I'm a crazy cat lady too (I pick up all of them on the streets), but I never kissed my cats... It's furry... and they can't understand this kind of caress. My husband couldn't imagine that!!

  70. OK. I'll be the only one - on the mouth??? EEEEeeewwww! No kitty at the moment, but I do have a couple of adorable corgis. They get noggin and ear kisses. Kona wants to sit in my lap, and tuck her muzzle under my chin and up by my ear. Dog hug!

    ReplyDelete
  71. We are crazy cat people too.... Mr Spock has been know to allow a smooch now and then.

  72. So cute! My cat 'helps' with all of my sewing projects, and gets grumpy when I try to move him off whatever pile of fabric he's chosen as his nest. I can usually console his hurt pride with cat head bumps.

    ReplyDelete
  73. So excited about the new course! I don't have cats - but I love my pups just as much!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm a crazy dog lady and I kiss him all the time. How can you not when your pets are just so darn cute?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I am 100% with Jeff, no kissing cats on the mouth (or dogs for that matter). I save my mouth kissin for my husband.

Sorry to hear about your eye twitching, my right arm is suffering because of soooo much sewing (arm bent during sewing, hand stitching, unpicking stitches, cutting patterns and fabric to exess). What can I say, the love of sewing makes us endure sewing pain.

Your kitty looks a lot like mine. Mine loves to sit on my lap while I sew. I am not too crazy about that arrangement, and even toss him off, but back he comes again and again.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Twitching eyes is usually a mineral deficiency. Most often magnesium. You will be amazed how fast it fixes that problem, if you take some every day. It is cheap. Give it a try. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have to agree with Jeff, I think cat-mouth kissing is against the rules. My dog is the love of my life, but she does not get kisses on her mouth! Well, sometimes she does, but only if she moves her mouth too suddenly!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yay! Great to see you're in Denver, my blue sky and sunshine home (even in January)! Can't wait to see your video. I've never tried to kiss my kitty on the mouth but I don't think he'd object. He's the mellowist, coolest, loveliest little man! Enjoy your time out West!

  80. Ahhhh, so good to read that there are so many crazy cat ladies out there. I kiss my kitty Agnes, she tries to lick about every part of my face, and according to my boyfriend I talk to her waaaaaaay to much. (Though recently I did catch him talking to her, too, hehehe)
Henry sure seems like a super sweet kitty, and seems to really miss you when you are gone!

  81. Waving my crazy cat lady flag here, but I kiss my kitties on the top of their darling little noses.

Henry is such a handsome boy!
