$100 Hart's Fabric Giveaway!

Great news, readers! Hart's Fabric is offering one lucky reader a $100 gift card (with shipping included, no less). They have a lovely selection of garment fabrics online. All you need to do to enter is leave a comment saying which fabric you'd like to use for your next apparel project.

Here, I'll go first!

How about some floral silk knit for a drapey bow-neck top?

Or maybe a 50s-style suit in some iris-colored Shetland wool?

Ooh, or even a cute little dress or pajamas in this tea-cup print linen.

Isn't this fun? Okay, it's your turn! All countries are eligible. Please just make sure I'm somehow able to find your e-mail address (either by linking to your profile or by leaving it in your comment). I'll choose a winner at the end of the day on Wednesday.

Good luck, my dears!

I like your picks, especially the teacups!

As for me I am tempted by the black cotton/hemp corduroy for a jacket, or the rayon challis black and white floral pattern for a nice swingy dress. Maybe both!

Oooooh... too many wonderful fabrics to choose from. What a fantastic giveaway!

I love the "Hemp Organic Cotton Denim Wave Fabric" and could imagine a beautiful shift dress and blazer in it, but then a new cheery summer dress (to wear out on top of long sleeves) from the "Floral Nani Iro Double Gauze Cotton Fabric" might be in order. Oh, but the RED VIRGIN WOOL: I have wanted a red wool coat since I was little girl. That would have to be it.

What a fantastic online store - thanks for introducing us Gertie!

Sewaholic posted about what comes first, the pattern or the fabric. I found an example of fabric I would purchase without a plan and spend the next 3 years finding the "perfect" pattern for it, playing with the petals every time I looked through my stash. http://www.hartsfabric.com/petal-chiffon-grey-64839.html

In a better planning light... I would make this into a dress. http://www.hartsfabric.com/stretch-jersey-knit-fabric61657.html

I don't even have to shop the whole website--I want that Shetland wool!! I'm starting a new job, and could use the mojo of a new suit I've made myself. I work in the arts, so no one would even blink at a vivid purple suit.

Alessa said...

Wow, what an incredibly tough choice! I'm tempted by all of those lovely cotton prints, although they may have to wait for spring... same goes for the bamboo rayon striped jersey... I'd have to go with the black&white polka dot corduroy. Or the grey&white pin dot flannel for a pair of jammies? I hate decisions...

I can NOT decide...I might makd a pretty summer dress out of double gauze, or slim pants from ponte knot, or a cute skirt from ruffle fabric. Lovely giveaway!

Oh my goodness. I would love to give a cute little vintage dress pattern the Green Forest Hills Cotton Voile Fabric by Anna Maria Horner or even the Retro Cotton Lawn Fabric Yellow Floral. That might be nice for the Bombshell dress from your class! Oh! The ideas are just rolling in now! Fun!

Erica said...

Cute! Lovely giveaway.

lianne said...

OOh, lots to tempt a fabricoholic!

I think the red/navy rayon floral is cool, but i can't tell from the description if it's a knit or a woven. If a woven, I'd get it and make a 30s-style dress.

Or a shift-style blouse from the black/white polka dot silk cotton lawn....

and what about the pleated Burda sew-along pleated skirt in the Echino viewfinder linen print!

Also love the vintage tablecloths!

Oh boy - It would be fun to try and decide how to spend $100 at Hart's. I'm up for the challenge!
