While I'm having an amazing time in Minnesota (it's fantastic here! Love it!), don't think I've forgotten that you need to be working on your skirts, my dears. Week Three of my pleated skirt sew-along is now posted on BurdaStyle. Come learn how to apply a simple and sleek grosgrain waistband and how to insert an invisible zipper. We'll finish off the sew-along next week with hemming. Are you sewing along? I hope so!
I need to dig out that pattern & get caught up (read: start) that sew-along. That's a nice skirt & I actually have the pattern & need the practice, so what am I waiting for?
ReplyDeleteayyyyy. Invisible zippers. I need to do this because I have FOIZ (Fear of Invizible Zippers) which has kept me from ..well, from putting in IZs.
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric -- that shade of yellow seems so timely right now and I don't even usually like yellow!
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is such a fabulous print!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE invisible zippers and have started using them in most of my sewing projects. I love the fact that you do one seam on each side and it's DONE! Such a time saver for me and it looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteDon't let invisible zips scare you, the are easy!
I looked at the project since you first posted and resisted. I'm not great about following computer posted instructions :( But it's too good to pass up - your instructions are clear and concise and photos are awesome! I ordered my pattern today and hope to catch up to #3 this week.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! You are so talented!! Saw your equally talented hubby this weekend at a book signing in Richmond. Sent him home with a gift for you....one more thing to look forward to when you get back to NYC.
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern on the fabric!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so cool. Inspires me to start making my own clothes again! x
I just bought a fast things to sew magazine and I was suprised to see you and your circle skirt in it. I wanted to show it to my sewing class. Thank you for being such an inspiration to them.
