A Gallery of Delicious Crepes

There have been many lovely dresses uploaded to the Crepe Sew-Along Flickr pool! And just like the French dessert, they certainly are sweet.

I just love Suzy's fierce zebra print!
Debbie's is divine in a blue and purple floral.

Farah's dotted Swiss is so pretty.
Christi's polka dots are pure retro awesomeness.
And Jane's vintage-y floral is so cheery with the red sash.
Aren't these wonderful? And this is just a small selection of the pool! I love seeing how everyone has made it their own. Don't forget to upload your version!

  1. Oh, these are so beautiful! I wish I'd had time to join in. I'm not usually a fan of zebra print but it looks great with this pattern - I might have to add a leopard print & red crepe to my 'things to sew when my thesis is finished' list (along with the ceylon dress, parfait dress, beignet skirt, lady grey coat and a corset, not to mention learning pattern drafting and all those knitting projects...hmmm, I may be hoping for too much but these crepes are definitely tempting!

  3. Ooh thank you Gertie, I'm so delighted to see my dress on your blog. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into the sewalong and your great tutorials. There's no way my dress would have fitted so well without them. x

  4. All so different yet all so pretty! I'm so upset I had to bail out on the sewalong because of work. This will give me the incentive I need to get started at last.

  5. Wow! This dress is so flattering on each and every woman. I may have to sew one up myself (if I ever finish my Lady Grey coat...)

  7. They're all so gorgeous! I'm loving the blue floral but they're all really pretty. I didn't join in due to too much else on but hopefully can join the next.

  14. Wow! Work has been bogging me down so I haven't had time to sew in several months. Today's the first day I've even read any sewing blogs in a long time, and this post certainly has inspired me!

  17. Dear Gertie
I have just discovered your lovely website. My husband has just bought me a sewing machine and I was trying to decide what to sew first...it's going to have to be a Crepe dress! I have the pattern and 4 metres of cotton lawn on order.
Sadly I will be 4 months behind, but better late than never.
Many thanks, and congratulations to all these ladies for sewing such beautiful dresses.
    Best wishes, Sarah

  20. This Flickr pool is one of the best demonstrations I've seen on home sewing. Going through the pictures of how the women altered their muslins to get the right fit was quite an education. Thanks to everyone who shared their progress -- I've been studying these as if there was a midterm!

I hope the woman who created the pattern sees these, to see how many of the problems the women ran into were because of the pattern being off (the darts, for example). It looked like such a simple little frock, but we all can learn something from this project, starting from the ground up.
