Thanks to all who entered!

  1. Congrats Tania-gru! Well done. Pics please when you make your first bra.

  2. Hi!

Just wanted you to know that your blog has been featured at the following address:

Most of the resources center around modest clothing, and we have several vintage resources like yours included. Close to 50 sewing pattern companies are listed, which may be of interest to you as well, under the "Sewing" menu tab. Thanks for your blogging!

  3. Ah, the merry widow, aka the corselette, from my youth. The problem with wearing one of those is that, sometimes when you sit down, the bones fold in half and stab you in the diaphram, cutting off your breathing. The one I had was strapless, lace over satin, with a plain, straight bottom and hooks all down the back. The pic is the luxury model. Mine used to be able to mostly stand up by itself. Oh to be 16, skinny, flat chested, and forced into one of these by a mother who stuck to the then norm of girdles and serious bras. But, I would love one now as they remind me of the time when men and women dressed differently - and then there's all that lace.

  4. Wheeee, will do immediately. Thanks for the giveaway and you wonderful blog

Thanks for your comments; I read each and every one! xo Gertie
