Come Visit Me on BurdaStyle!

Want to hear something exciting? I'm a new guest blogger on BurdaStyle! I'll be doing a weekly post on all things regarding vintage sewing.

Check out my first post here, and come back every Thursday for a thrilling new installment about the ins and outs of sewing vintage patterns and styles. And please: I would love to hear any suggestions you have for topics that would appeal to a wide audience of sewing enthusiasts.

And, of course, keep visiting here for your regularly scheduled programming. Also, I'm going to say this quick so it's not too sappy: Thanks to everyone for reading my little blog, and for your funny, insightful, and helpful comments. In a not-very-oft quoted Homer Simpson line, "I've really come to like you guys!"

  3. I am very happy to hear this. I am a member of Burdastyle; so I already read your post. I think you will make Burdastyle more interesting to read. You have a lot of good information to share, and we can learn a lot from you. I am curious. How did they come to choose you? Do you know? Did you contact them and offer, or did they already know about you and contact you? I'm just curious how this sort of thing works. You can email me the answer to that one if you would like.

One topic I would love for you to cover is how do you deal with the patterns with no print and only punched holes? Are they difficult? I am so used to writing on the patterns. I just wonder if it would be confusing? Do you go ahead and write on them so you don't get confused?

  8. Wonderful news! Now you will reach an even wider audience! Do I see a book in your future? One that a young lady will be following 50 years from now? Maybe she will be writing on a blog (or whatever technology source is current in 2059) about each outfit she makes!

  9. Please put a permanent link in your sidebar or something; I want reminders!
will they edit you much? Can you ask them why I can't find the Burda magazine at a newsstand near me (which is so unfair of me - there aren't even any fabric stores around here)?
And when are you going to get the elbow-length gloves to go with your red dress? Or do you have to sew them?

  10. Congrats! Can't wait to follow the results of this thrilling collab! I would love to read about less common vintage sewing techniques you discover, which I know you kind of cover in this blog too. I am also about to start guest blogging on another site, if you have any advice of how you aim to keep the content of the host blog and your own personal separate, I'd really appreciate that too!
