I tried blue jeans, and it just doesn't seem right. I have slipper socks too, because its cold in here, but shoes or sneakers just seem overdressed. I start out sewing in whatever I am already wearing. I don't have a wardrobe change before sewing. However, if I'm sewing something for myself I end up changing into gym pants and a t-shirt if I'm feeling like being modest. Otherwise, it's just undies for me.
