Cotton organdy is also a great substitute ...Gertie,
Cotton organdy is also a great substitute for fusible interfacing when you are using cotton fabrics and for warm weather clothing. Don't waste money buying pricey Italian Organdy or other heirloom type organdies - those can be up to $50 a yard. Just opt for your garden variety 100% cotton organdy - maybe $5 or 6 per yard - not sure I haven't had to buy it in years.
Organza is what you find in silk, poly and other fibers but when it's cotton it's called organdy. I bought a huge bolt years ago (I had to order 20 meters to get the store to bring it in, so I bought the whole thing myself) It softens when wet or crushed but as soon as you iron it, it becomes crisp and firm again.
p.s. if you can't find any, I'll see if I can locate my bolt and I'll send you some so you know what to look for.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07892262012412087030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259455441759015869.post-22420011426214566672009-08-07T12:46:25.294-04:002009-08-07T12:46:25.294-04:00Yey - you can now get these on E-bay in the UKYey - you can now get these on E-bay in the UKlilyloveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15163949771672922814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259455441759015869.post-53304382452793878772009-07-20T18:50:23.790-04:002009-07-20T18:50:23.790-04:00GORGEOUS! I was shopping my fabric stash and I was trying to decide between some dark green and some pale green linen that I've had for a while, and after seeing yours I'm going to do it up in the pale green now. I think a fancier version; in the charmuse, would benefit from omitting the pockets as well.

I would love to make a winter version of this dress in a wool crepe or gabardine, and wear a simple cap sleeve blouse (perhaps with a touch of lace) underneath.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15252111376555530552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3259455441759015869.post-27637943137682762172009-07-17T01:38:59.638-04:002009-07-17T01:38:59.638-04:00What a fabulous dress- well done!! My husband couldn't believe that this one and my pink check parfait came from the same pattern! That's what makes it all so fun I think.

Knitosaurus, don't be intimidated by the sba!
